Team
Lead Facilitator
Hotseta (Oscar Dennis Sr). is the founder and lead facilitator of Indigenous Initiation. He holds a Master’s degree and undergraduate degrees in First Nations Studies and Anthropology. Raised on the land and fluent in his Indigenous language, he was trained in traditional spiritual practices by his father and carries both Indigenous and academic knowledge systems. His path also includes participation in traditional ceremonial work in the Sacred Valley of Peru and further ceremonial work with Indigenous shamans in South America involving traditional entheogenic plant medicines used for spiritual insight, healing, and expanded states of consciousness.
Beyond academics and travel, he brings lived experience shaped by hardship, loss, and resilience. Having grown up on reserve, attended mission and boarding schools, and faced profound personal tragedies, he understands struggle not only in theory, but in life. His work is grounded in survival, healing, cultural continuity, and helping others reclaim strength, purpose, and direction.
